The wear and tear of New York streets takes a toll on a car's front end. We handle the full range of front end mechanical repairs for all makes and models, no matter the cause.
What that covers
Struts, shocks, tie rod ends, ball joints, springs — basically everything involved in repairing the front end of the vehicle.
How it works
If you feel something isn't performing properly, bring the car in. We'll look it over and take it for a test drive to find the problem.
That can usually be done while you wait. Or drop the car off and come back once we've put the estimate together. Repairs are often done the same day.

Official NYS emissions inspection station
NY State inspection
New York requires an inspection once a year. Safety and emissions are both done here. Any issues we find get reported to you, along with estimates and your options for anything that needs service. Once it passes, you leave with a current inspection sticker.
Check engine light
A check engine light can mean a lot of different things. We use computer diagnostics to track down what's behind it.
Regular maintenance
For any kind of maintenance, dealer-required or not, bring it to American A-1. We check air filters and fan belts, rotate and balance tires, change spark plugs and hose lines, and more.
